Community Resource Paramedic Program Intern | Gainesville Fire Rescue| Spring 2015- 2017

  • Pilot and co-design social service program in home Alachua County in collaboration with Gainesville Fire Rescue Department to  target patients without primary care, connect them with local social resources, and follow up on success of care.

  • Awarded: Gainesville Fire Rescue Chief’s Award for Excellence for service

Institute of Food and Agricultural Science  Research Intern| University of Florida |Summer 2016

  • Over 540 hours of experience in BSL II lab, focusing on experiment series culturing, infecting, lysing, extracting proteins and analyzing effects of Salmonella pathogen on human cells under the tutelage of Dr. Mariola Edelmann

EMR Volunteer Lab Teaching Assistant | GatorEMR| Fall 2015- present

  • 5 semesters (over 110 hours) experience in teaching and certifying classes of undergraduate students in emergency medical responder level lab skills (backboarding, bleeding control, splinting, CPR, etc. )

Emergency Medical Technician Graduate | SantaFe College EMS  | Summer 2015

  • Certified in Emergency Medical Technician basic life support care standards of US DOT National Standard Curriculum. Includes coursework, applied lab skills, and over 60 hours clinical experience in hospital emergency department,  fire department (urban and rural sectors) in truck and ambulance rescues.

  • Skills include: patient assessment, airway management, medical and trauma emergencies, childbirth, patient assisted medications, behavioral emergencies and intervention, hazardous material awareness, and a mandatory 4 hour section on HIV/AIDS (FS401.2701.5c) and 2 hours of adult and pediatric trauma scorecard methodologies (FS401.2701.5b).

Mobile Outreach Clinic Volunteer | UF College of Medicine| Spring/Summer 2015

  • Research Assistant: 40 hours experience,  collect and organize data weekly on health literacy in  outgoing patients in low SES areas

  • Care Coordinator: 40 hours Volunteer alongside health professionals in a bus clinic traveling to and providing free primary care to underserved areas of Gainesville; collect vitals, scribe during examination. After exam, partner with patient to propose health interventions with weekly phone calls to follow up and emotionally support patients.

Pazeni Sauti Africa Choir| UF School of Music | Fall 2013-Present

  • 2015: Secretary- organize and collaborate on events and performances, document officer meetings, maintain member attendance, dissemination of announcements

  • 2016: Treasurer- manage choir bank account, oversee influx and expenditure of capital, collaborate on funding with UF SAI allocations budget committee

AIDsummer Volunteer | Taiwan Overseas Service Program | Summer 2013

  • Month long initiative to teach English for free to rural schoolchildren (grades 2 & 3) in Sanxia, Taiwan. Collaborated with school faculty, planned lesson plans and activities; taught class for six hours five days a week in Mandarin.

  • Awarded 2013 Presidential Award for Community Service
